Students in Preschool & Junior Kindergarten worked together to build birthday pans for familes/kids in their community who might not otherwise have the items to celebrate with cake and party items.
Children's Hospital of Colorado shared on social media and local news outlets that the hospital's supply of blankets was low and invited people to make fleece tied blankets. Two STMP classrooms responded to this need by making over 10 blankets with funds to purchase materials donated by a Faith Lutheran Church community member.
STMP students filled bags full of goodies provided by STMP families and the FAITH community to be given to our first responders to thank them for all they do to care for our community. The bags were filled with lip balm, hand sanitizer, protein bars, hydration powder, and other helpful items.
Each year on Veteran's Day, STMP classes come up with a way to honor, recognize, and say THANK YOU to the group of Veterans from Boulder who meet weekly here at Faith Lutheran Church. This year kids made thank you cards and banners to be displayed in their meeting room. These were presented to the Veterans personally by the students who joined them for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Each year we support a handful of families that are in need of some extra support, some experiencing homelessness. This service project is meaningful for our community as many of our STMP alum attend Shelton. At STMP, we strive to instill a sense of generosity and community with our STMP students as they help pick out gifts for the Giving Tree with their families, making the act of service a tangible one.
